2021 Menefee Vineyards Pinot Noir
Our 2021 Menefee Pinot remains elegant while building on a depth of flavors. On the nose, layers of cranberry and plummy red fruit are followed by fresh forest floor and sweet baking spices. Notes of bright violet flowers and cherry liqueur take over as it opens. The palate is taught and acid-driven, with bright red fruit.
With this single vineyard Pinot Noir, we continue the exploration of the beauty of our family farm, Menefee Vineyards. This top-tier barrel selection best portrays the elegance of our estate in a warmer vintage. Aged in neutral French barrels, this wine shows the purest expression and beauty of a cooler site set in the coastal range. This vintage has spectacular aging potential.

The 2021 growing season started out unusually dry and warm. Summer continued the warm weather with the occasional heat spike. With September came cooler temperatures, allowing the grapes to mature and finish ripening slowly, retaining acidity and balance. Overall, the vintage created beautifully elegant wines, with vibrant acidity and youthful energy.
This vineyard designated Pinot Noir draws fruit sourced from Menefee Vineyards, located on the far edge of Yamhill-Carlton AVA. The fruit is fermented with native yeast and aged in 100% neutral French barriques for 11 months prior to bottling.
